SUNNYVALE, CA, June 28, 2007 – Liquid Engines, the leading provider of enterprise-class corporate tax management software, today announced the signing of an agreement to integrate Decision Modeling, Inc. (DMI)’s industry-leading interest calculations into its FIN 48 software solution — GPM. Under this agreement, Liquid Engines will offer customers a repository of historical federal and state interest rates dating from 1954 to the present, spanning many types of interest calculations — providing GPM customers with the most precise calculations of those amounts in accordance with IRS and state regulations.
Given that interest can sometimes surpass a corporation’s total tax liability, rough estimates are no longer acceptable. A greater level of accuracy is required. Liquid Engines GPM will transparently deliver the power and sophistication of DMI’s interest calculator into the hands of tax professionals within the application’s
easy-to-use application environment. Now GPM customers will benefit from built-in multi-year, multi-jurisdictional rate tables and calculations that eliminate the need to rely on third-party tools to precisely compute often highly-complex exposure amounts by position, unit of account, and jurisdiction. Updated on a regular basis, and user modifiable, these embedded tables and calculations ensure greater precision and speed complex, multi-year calculations.

Historical Federal and State Interest Rate Tables - Interest data from 1954 to the present are provided. All interest rates and methods (e.g., simple interest, daily compounded, yearly compounded) are included and updated quarterly. The rate tables cover federal, all 50 states, New York City, and Washington, D.C.
Sophisticated Interest Calculation Engine - DMI’s industry-renowned calculation engine reliably delivers complex computations of interest, including highly unique calculations required by a number of states.
